Choose an appropriate level
This game features three difficulty levels, indicated by the Pi symbols on the triangles. The suggested ages are only a guideline, feel free to adjust the level based on what your child is ready for.
-
Easy π
For younger players, you can play a simplified version of the game. In this version, the triangles are placed in the correct slots. Take a moment to explore the shapes together: what makes each triangle different? For example, look at size, shape, or angles. This helps players recognize the differences and discover which triangle fits where.

Parts
You play this version with:
▶ 4 starting fences
▶ 8 fences
▶ 12 characters
▶ 3 victory tokens**Optional, only needed when playing multiple rounds.
⭢
-
Preparation
Before starting the game, set up the components as follows:
▶ Step 1
Take the 4 starting fences (recognizable by the removable flags). Let each player choose one and place it in front of him/her, the youngest player goes first.Playing with fewer than 4 players? Add the remaining starting fence(s) to the “regular” 8 fences and divide them into two stacks (see the stacks shown above).

Preparation
▶ Step 2
Place the 3 victory tokens next to the 2 stacks of fences.⭢
-
Preparation
▶ Step 3
Place all the characters face down in the center.⭢
-
Game progression
The goal of the game is to fill as many fences as possible with the correct triangles.
▶ Step 1
The youngest player starts. Find the triangle you think fits correctly.⭢

Game progression
▶ Step 2
Think you’ve found the right triangle? Pick it up and turn it over.⭢
-
Game progression
▶ Step 3
Try to place the triangle in your fence. Does it fit perfectly? If so, you’ve filled a fence and may choose a new one. Take the top fence from one of the two stacks. If the triangle doesn’t fit, place it face down back in the center (it doesn’t have to go in the same spot), and the next player takes his turn.⭢
-
Game progression - end of the game
▶ Step 4
When a player takes the last fence, everyone gets one final turn to find the correct triangle. After that, count the fences.⭢
-
Scoring
▶ Step 5
The player with the most filled fences wins. In case of a tie, the player with the fence containing Mr. Geo (the set square) is the winner.Optional
If a round ends quickly, you can play three rounds. The winner of each round receives one victory token. After three rounds, the overall winner is the player with the most victory tokens.
-
Intermediate ππ
At this level, the game becomes more challenging. Players now recognize the differences between the triangles and know which shape is needed to fill a fence. It’s time to add a new gameplay element.

Action Triangles
On the action triangles, you’ll find symbols and flags. For a symbol, perform the indicated action. For a flag, take the flag in the shown color(s) and place it in your own fence.
-
Bad Luck (ππ)
If you pick an action triangle with this symbol, return the triangle to the center. The next player takes their turn.
⭢ swipe
-
Swap (ππ)
Swap an empty fence with another empty fence, or a filled fence with another filled fence. Watch out! The starting fences cannot be swapped. You must complete a swap.
⭢
-
Take another one (ππ)
You may try again. Pick another triangle and see if it fits.
⭢
-
Shuffle (πππ)
Shuffle all the triangles in the center so that everyone has to search for their triangle again.
-
1 Color
Each action triangle also has a flag. This means you may place 1 flag in your starting fence. If the flag has a single color, take the flag of that color and place it in your fence. If you already have that color, leave the flag in the center and do not place a flag in your fence.
⭢ swipe
-
2 Colors
Sometimes an action triangle shows a flag with two colors. This means you may choose one of these two colors to place in your fence. If you already have both colors, leave the flag in the center and do not place a flag in your fence.
⭢
-
6 Colors
There are also flags showing all 6 colors. This means you may choose any missing color to place in your fence.
The Families
To see which family members belong together, we’ve shown them below. You can also identify them yourself by paying close attention to the colors and the angles.

Bonus Game - Guess Who? (πππ+)
For children who want to uncover all the secrets of triangles, there’s a special game: Guess Who? It helps them learn to spot differences and similarities between the triangles. This game should be played together with an adult.
In English, this game is played partly digital, see the explanation below.
-
Preparation
▶ Step 1
Make a stack of all 12 fences, with the back side facing up.⭢ swipe
-
Preparation
▶ Step 2
Make sure the player who is guessing cannot see the fences. You can use the box, for example, to keep them out of sight.⭢
-
Preparation
▶ Step 3
Place all the 12 character face down in front of the guessing player.⭢
-
Gameplay
▶ Step 1
Take the top fence from the stack. Find its matching fence on your phone. Scroll to the bottom to see the correct translation. Each fence shows two or three characteristics. Reveal them one at a time.⭢
-
Gameplay
▶ Step 2
To check which triangle has this specific characteristic, you can use Mr. Geo’s measuring board or look at the symbols on the back of the triangles. Some characteristics are mathematical, like a “right angle,” while others are visual, like “the number of freckles.” We’ll show one example.⭢
-
Gameplay
▶ Example – Characteristic 1
“I don’t have a right angle”
A right angle is an angle of 90 degrees. You can check this on the measuring board by placing the triangle in the pink corner. Does one of the angles fit perfectly? If so, the triangle has a right angle. You can also identify it by the pink symbol. All triangles with a right angle are now eliminated.⭢
-
Gameplay
▶ Example – Characteristic 2
“I have 3 equal sides”
A triangle with three equal sides says it all, each side is exactly the same length. You can check this on the measuring board by placing the triangle’s sides along the measuring lines. You can also recognize it by the matching symbol: a white line on each side. Count three? Then it matches. All triangles that don’t have three equal sides are now eliminated.⭢
-
Gameplay
▶ Example – Characteristic 3
“I have 7 freckles”
For this visual characteristic, turn over the remaining triangles. Look at the three characters, does one of them have 7 freckles? If so, that’s the character you’re looking for.⭢
-
Gameplay
▶ Step 3
Give the fence to the player and let them place the character inside it. Is it correct? Then move on to the next one.⭢
-
What characteristics can a triangle have?
Characteristic 1"I have 3 equal angles"
A triangle with three equal angles can be recognized because all angles are exactly the same size. You can check this on the measuring board by placing the triangle in the orange corner, do all three angles fit perfectly? If so, your triangle has 3 equal angles. You can also identify it by the symbol: an orange dot. Count three? Then your triangle also has 3 equal angles.
⭢
-
Characteristic 2
“I am symmetrical”
“I am not symmetrical”
A triangle is symmetrical if its left and right halves match perfectly. You can check this on the measuring board: place the triangle at the bottom of the board, centered exactly, and make sure the green dashed line runs through the middle. Then measure the distance from the center to the tip, are the left and right sides the same length? If so, the triangle is symmetrical.
Don’t have a measuring board? You can also check with a ruler by measuring the two sides and comparing them.
⭢
-
Characteristic 3
“I have 2 equal sides”
“I have 3 equal sides”
“All my sides are different”
You can check these three characteristics on the measuring board by placing the triangle’s sides along the measuring lines. This lets you see exactly which sides are equal in length. You can also recognize them by the corresponding symbol: a white line on a side. Count two lines? The triangle has two equal sides. Count three lines? It has three equal sides. See no lines? Then all sides of the triangle are different.
⭢
-
Characteristic 4
“I have a right angle”
“I don’t have a right angle”
A right angle is an angle of 90 degrees. You can check this on the measuring board by placing the triangle in the pink corner, does one of the angles fit perfectly? If so, the triangle has a right angle. You can also recognize it by the pink symbol. If there’s no pink symbol on the triangle, it doesn’t have a right angle.⭢
